Y2K tees, designer handbags, and branded hoodies are the top three items that sell best on Vinted. Here, I’ll break down my own experiences selling these items on Vinted, with price ranges and expected profits.

What sells best on Vinted? TL;DR

Item Why buyers want it Typical price range
1. Y2K streetwear & graphic tees Nostalgia-driven demand from Gen-Z collectors $15–$40 per piece
2. Zara & H&M seasonal pieces Recognizable brands, reliably under retail $15–$30 per item
3. Branded hoodies Hold value well in excellent condition $10–$100+ per hoodie
4. Nike & Adidas sportswear/shoes Gym-ready and vintage hunters $15–$70 per pair
5. Kids' clothing bundles Parents buy multiples for fast-growing kids Varies by size
6. Designer handbags & accessories Luxury appeal at well-below-retail prices $330–$700+ per bag
7. Vintage clothing Collectors want a specific era and style $30–$80+ per piece
8. Premium outerwear brands The North Face, Patagonia, Arc’teryx $20–$150+ per jacket
9. Baby clothes & accessories Babies outgrow fast; steady demand always ~$5 per 3-item bundle

Fastest-selling items on Vinted (ranked)

On Vinted, many buyers are looking for deals on trendy or seasonal items at a fraction of the cost of retail. In my experience, the following 9 listing types best meet buyer demand and pricing expectations:

1. Y2K streetwear and vintage graphic tees

Y2K streetwear and vintage graphic tees attract consistent demand from trend-driven Millennial and Gen-Z buyers as well as collectors. They sell because branded nostalgia and unique prints stand out in search results. Most pieces move within 2–5 days when priced between $15 and $40, depending on brand and condition.

2. Zara and H&M seasonal pieces

Zara and H&M pieces sell on Vinted because buyers recognize them quickly and can usually purchase them for under retail prices.

I’ve sourced pieces in bulk from overstock websites, averaging under $5/item, and have resold them anywhere from $15–$30, leaving $5–$15 profit, depending on shipping.

3. Branded hoodies

Many branded hoodies sell well on Vinted because they hold value, especially if they’re brand new or in excellent used condition.

For instance, Carhartt hoodies range from under $10 to over $100, depending on condition. Authentic Essentials Fear of God hoodies can start as low as $25 used, but fetch over $100 if brand new.

4. Nike and Adidas sportswear and shoes

This category splits into two different buyers: One wants gym-ready Adidas or Nike gear at a fair price, and the other wants a vintage piece they can't find in stores. Sellers who write for both kinds of buyers get more search traffic. Using specific model names instead of vague labels like “Nike trainers” can reach shoppers who already know what they want.

Nike is a popular choice for men's footwear on Vinted, particularly Air Force 1s, Air Max models, and tech fleece apparel. Adidas Sambas, Ultraboosts, and tracksuits are consistent top sellers. Vintage 80s and 90s pieces are seeing a massive resurgence driven by the archival trend.

I used to source Nike footwear from liquidation pallets for about $8 to $15 per pair, and sell for $15 to $70 on Vinted, leaving me anywhere from $9 to $59 in profit.

5. Kids' clothing bundles

Parents shop differently from other buyers on Vinted. They want to buy several pairs of clothes at bargain prices for kids who will soon outgrow them. The best way to satisfy this demand is by offering bundles. Many parents buy several things at once, so bundle listings attract more attention.

I’ve found that grouping items by age and season attracts more parents than simply offering brands. A listing like “winter bundle for 5-year-old boys” is easier to find and understand than a random mix of single items.

6. Designer handbags and accessories

Designer handbags and accessories are popular items to sell on Vinted because buyers are willing to accept used items at a much lower price than retail prices. Vinted’s Item Verification Service creates a market for these items and helps earn trust.

I’ve sourced Gucci handbags for $100–$300 and sold them for $330 to $700+, earning profits from ~$130 to $400+. However, with high-ticket items like these, you’ll need clear authentication and detailed photos.

7. Vintage

Vintage items attract collectors and buyers seeking nostalgia. These Vinted users care more about details, like era and style. They want specific pieces, not just anything labeled vintage.

Unique vintage items, like designer brands, bring in a more focused audience. For instance, vintage Armani pieces can sell for $30–$80+, depending on wear and era.

The more specific your listing is, the better it performs. Include the era, color, and condition so buyers can quickly see what makes your item different from others.

8. Premium outerwear brands

Outerwear buyers on Vinted come looking for The North Face, Arc'teryx, and Patagonia specifically, often by model name. These brands offer versatile and durable pieces that can last for years.

North Face puffy down jackets can sell for $20 to $150+, depending on condition. List these items in late August, just before fall. Waiting for October means competing with every other seller who had the same idea.

9. Baby clothes and accessories

Baby clothes sell quickly because babies outgrow them fast. This creates a steady supply and constant demand from parents.

Just like kids’ clothing, bundles work especially well because they save time and money. For instance, a bundle of 3 rompers can go for $5. Group items by size or season to make your listings easier to shop.

Keep your descriptions simple and clear. A parent shopping late at night for a 3–6 month bundle wants to see the size, condition, and price right away.

Items that don’t sell well on Vinted

Low-value, fast fashion, damaged, and overpriced items don’t sell well on Vinted. So, not every item you own is worth the time it takes to photograph and list. Beware of the following listings:

Low-value fast fashion basics

Basics, generic leggings, and no-name T-shirts struggle on Vinted. Buyers who want cheap items already have hundreds of similar options. Buyers have no clear reason to choose yours.

Items under $25 often sell faster with a recognizable brand. Without a brand or standout features, price alone becomes a race to the bottom where no one wins.

Heavily worn or damaged items

Buyers often check the condition first. If an item looks too worn or not usable, they scroll past right away. Missing buttons, faded colors, and worn fabric hurt your credibility, even at low prices. A bad listing that leads to returns or poor reviews can damage your account.

Don’t list items that aren’t wearable as-is. You can sell them as “for parts or repair” or “vintage distressed” if you clearly show their flaws and price them appropriately.

Overpriced listings without brand demand

Many sellers price items based on what they paid instead of what buyers want. On Vinted, shoppers compare listings in seconds, and the lowest-priced, best-value options get most of the clicks.

A generic coat at $45 may sit for weeks, while a similar branded coat at $65 might sell quickly. But brand alone isn’t enough. You need the right price, good condition, and clear photos to create demand.

Quick checklist for listing items to sell fast

Knowing what sells before you list saves more time than any optimization trick after the fact. These checks take minutes and directly separate items that move quickly from those that sit for weeks:

1. Check sold listings before you list

Sold listings show what buyers actually paid. Search for similar items on Vinted, and review what sold and for how much. Review at least five recent comparables. Price your listings at or slightly below the median to stay competitive. A category with no recently sold listings signals weak demand.

2. Use price as a speed dial

Your price controls how fast the item sells. Vinted buyers compare listing prices instantly, and lower-priced items attract most clicks. If an item sits for more than 14 days without activity, the issue is price. Lowering the price triggers notifications to users who liked the item, which helps increase visibility.

3. List ahead of the season

Seasonality on Vinted works ahead of demand, not during it. Buyers search for winter items before temperatures drop, not after. For instance, Christmas jumpers sell best in late October to November, not during the holiday period.

FAQs

1. Does pricing lower help items sell faster on Vinted?

Yes, pricing items competitively below the median of sold comparables often speeds up sales. Buyers compare listings instantly and click the cheapest ones first. Dropping your price also triggers automatic notifications to everyone who liked your item.

2. Is it better to sell bundles or individual items on Vinted?

Bundles work best for kids' and baby clothes, whereas individual items (listings) suit branded or designer items. Bundles work well for parents because they want multiple pieces in one purchase. These help increase your average order value and avoid slow single-item sales.

3. How long does it take for items to sell on Vinted?

How long it takes for items to sell on Vinted depends on category, price, and timing. In-demand items like Y2K tees or branded hoodies can move within 2–5 days when priced competitively. If a listing sits for more than 14 days with no activity, lowering the price is the fastest way to revive it.
