ClosetPilot review: My assessment of this Poshmark bot | 2025

I tested ClosetPilot to see how well it handled Poshmark tasks like sharing and whether it could crosslist items on other platforms (spoiler alert: it can’t). I’ll show you what to expect from the tool and how it compares with Nifty, a true crosslisting tool.

My quick ClosetPilot review 

ClosetPilot works best for Poshmark sellers with small closets. It automates sharing, following, and sending offers, but only within Poshmark. The extension runs locally, which means your computer must stay on and your browser open for automations to continue. 

Since it doesn’t support crosslisting, it’s not ideal for larger sellers active on multiple marketplaces.

ClosetPilot is a Chrome-based automation tool that manages Poshmark tasks such as sharing listings, following users, and sending offers to likers. It eliminates manually clicking through your closet and runs these actions in the background. 

Using an automation tool like ClosetPilot helps you source new inventory, photograph items, and earn more money on Poshmark. 

ClosetPilot’s key features

Here are some of the main perks that come with using ClosetPilot:

• Auto share and follow with adjustable speeds: Automatically share listings and follow users at speeds you set, slowing the pace to mimic human behavior and avoid triggering Poshmark’s spam filters, keeping you out of Poshmark Jail.
• Bulk offer sending with limited visibility per item: Send discount offers to all likers in bulk instead of opening each listing one by one. But you can’t track which items drive the most engagement or conversions, which makes pricing optimization difficult.

Poshmark considers sharing over 10,000 times daily bot activity, and will likely send accounts that do so to jail.

We searched Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, and other review sites to learn user feedback. A minor caveat: Most of the reviews are a few years old, suggesting ClosetPilot may not be as popular as other tools that receive reviews almost monthly.

• A great tool: A user noted that ClosetPilot works well for Poshmark automation, and canceling your subscription is headache-free. (February 27th, 2024)
• User praises its reliability: One user shared that ClosetPilot worked flawlessly for them. They reported being able to easily share listings, follow users, and manage offers through Chrome. (December 28th, 2023) 

Negative reviews 

• Wanted a refund after being put in share jail: One user complained that after using ClosetPilot, their Poshmark account was placed in share jail for the first time. (April 10th, 2021)
• ClosetPilot continued to charge after cancellation: A user claimed ClosetPilot continued charging them for months, even though they canceled their free trial and received confirmation of the cancellation. (August 22nd, 2023) 

My personal take on ClosetPilot: Pros and cons

I downloaded the ClosetPilot extension and used the tool to manage my Poshmark closet, which contains over 1,000 items. Here’s what I liked (and what I didn’t like): 

ClosetPilot pros

Pro #1: Fast and simple setup

I installed the ClosetPilot Chrome extension and started automating shares within minutes. There’s no account verification, onboarding steps, or forced tutorials. You simply log into Poshmark, open the dashboard, and toggle your automation settings. 

The extension begins cycling through your closet right away, using browser-based actions rather than any API connection.

Pro #2: Reliable background sharing and getting more followers

ClosetPilot ran quietly while I worked in other browser tabs, handling shares and follows automatically without noticeable slowdown. As long as the Poshmark tab stays open, the tool works in the background. 

Pro #3: Free version for testing

Before paying $29.99/month to get full ClosetPilot access, try the free version first. You can share up to 100 items daily and adjust both sharing time and speed. The free version let me share only part of my closet, but it shows how well the tool works. Use it to decide if the tool is worth paying for.

ClosetPilot cons

Con #1: Limited visibility for automatic offers

When I sent bulk offers to likers, ClosetPilot processed them in the background but didn’t show which listings received responses or generated sales. There’s no breakdown by discount percentage, item category, or conversion rate, so you can’t tell what worked best or adjust pricing mid-campaign.

Con #2: Occasional glitches 

During heavy sharing sessions, the extension sometimes froze. Fixing it required a browser restart, which wiped my progress, meaning I had to start my automations over each time. 

These issues didn’t occur during every session, but they happened often enough that I needed to check back every 15 minutes or so.

Con #3: No analytics dashboard

ClosetPilot doesn’t include reporting tools for shares completed, offer results, or follower growth. To check whether automation actually drives sales, you have to rely on Poshmark’s built-in stats. 

Con #4 No crosslisting support

ClosetPilot works only with Poshmark. It can’t list or manage items across platforms like Mercari, eBay, or Depop. If you crosslist Poshmark items on multiple platforms or are considering it, you’ll need a separate tool for crosslisting. 

Nifty: The go-to ClosetPilot alternative

It became clear that ClosetPilot wasn’t for me, and not just because I have a large closet. ClosetPilot doesn’t support crosslisting or offer any other AI tools, which even a seller with under 100 items can appreciate. 

Here’s why you should ditch ClosetPilot and go with Nifty instead:

Better Poshmark automation 

Are you a die-hard Posher who doesn’t list on any other platform and only needs Poshmark automation? Nifty’s got your back, offering a cheaper monthly fee of $25/month, compared to ClosetPilot’s $29.99/month.

Nifty crosslists items to Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, Depop, and Etsy (more coming soon!) in just a few clicks. You upload photos, descriptions, and pricing once, then choose which platforms to publish to.

When an item sells, Nifty instantly delists it elsewhere to prevent overselling. Bulk editing also allows you to update prices or descriptions across all connected platforms simultaneously, offering inventory management for multi-platform sellers.

Runs in the cloud + mobile access

Unlike ClosetPilot’s browser extension, Nifty runs entirely in the cloud, so automation continues even when your computer is off. This means that Nifty can share your closet and send offers to likers on Poshmark while you’re sleeping.

Nifty is also optimized for mobile devices, so you can use the tool from your phone while you’re on the go. Server-side automation also prevents interruptions from browser crashes or idle sessions.

AI listing generation

Upload an item photo, and Nifty’s AI creates a complete individual listing with an SEO-optimized title, detailed description, and relevant tags. It recognizes logos, colors, and styles, then suggests pricing based on comparable sold listings. 

Nifty allows you to generate listings for up to 30 items simultaneously. But you’ll get the best results if you upload 5 well-taken product shots per item. 

My final verdict: Is ClosetPilot right for you?

ClosetPilot’s sharing automation saves time and helps improve engagement, but its aging design and limited insights hold it back. Here’s who should, and shouldn’t use ClosetPilot:

Shortlist ClosetPilot if …

• You’re a new Poshmark seller: If you’re just starting out on Poshmark with under 100 listings, try ClosetPilot. The free tier handles basic shares and follows, allowing you to offload manual work while you learn Poshmark.
• You have a small closet: If your closet has fewer than 200 items and visibility is your priority, ClosetPilot suits your needs. It automates background sharing to keep listings fresh in search results.

Avoid ClosetPilot if …

• You’re a high-volume seller: Manage over 500 listings and crosslist on platforms like Mercari and Depop? ClosetPilot’s lack of crosslisting and analytics capabilities becomes a major limitation. Since the tool doesn’t offer analytics, you can’t identify which items generate engagement, track conversion rates, or measure ROI. 
• You need more features than just automation: ClosetPilot only offers Poshmark automation. So if you need to make offers on eBay, Depop, and Mercari, you’ll be out of luck. Additionally, ClosetPilot lacks AI generation capabilities and a photo-editing suite. 

Although ClosetPilot covers the basics of Poshmark automation, it falls short if you’re looking to scale. Its limited analytics, single-platform focus, and dated interface make it hard to manage extensive inventories or optimize performance. 

It’s a solid starter option, but tools like Nifty deliver more features, crosslisting support, and greater value at a lower monthly cost.
