Curtsy has over 2 million active users, and it’s a platform for selling used women’s clothing, jewelry, and accessories. The marketplace functions as a mobile-first app, which has features that allow users to shoot product pics and list directly from their phones. However, you can only sign up with a phone number or an Apple Account.

  • Free listings with lower selling fees: Listing items is free. Curtsy charges a $1 + 5% selling fee plus a 2.9% payment processing fee on completed sales. Buyers also need to pay a variable fee of between $1 and $1 + 10% of the purchase price. 
  • Fee exception for imported listings: Items imported from other marketplaces, such as Poshmark, carry over the original platform's fee structure. However, listings imported with free shipping use Curtsy's standard lower fee. 
  • Quick payouts after shipment: Buyers pay immediately, and Curtsy releases your earnings to your wallet once you've shipped the item and tracking updates. Most non-luxury sellers receive payment within 24 hours of shipment, but you might need to wait around 3 days. 
  • Flexible payout options: You’ll need to transfer your money from your Curtsy wallet to your bank account or debit card, or keep your balance as Curtsy shopping credit. Standard bank transfers are free and typically take 1–3 business days, while instant transfers are available for a small fee.

The winner: Curtsy

Curtsy’s the clear winner when it comes to fees and payouts. It offers rates that often come in at less than half of Poshmark’s hefty 20% fee. Keep in mind that sellers who crosslist from other marketplaces without offering free shipping won't get this discount, since Curtsy applies the original platform's fee structure in that case.

  • Weight-based shipping rates: Shipping starts at $4.95 for items under 0.25 lb and increases by weight, up to $12.95 for packages under 4 lb.
  • Prepaid USPS labels: After a sale, Curtsy provides a prepaid USPS shipping label. Sellers can print it at home, use a USPS QR code for label printing, schedule a free USPS pickup, drop the package in a collection box, or take it to a post office.
  • Returns for listing issues only: Curtsy offers a free return and full refund if an item is significantly different from its listing, arrives damaged, or is never shipped.
  • No returns for fit or preference: If an item doesn't fit or you simply don't like it, Curtsy encourages you to relist it instead of returning it, since fit and preference issues don't qualify for a refund under the Curtsy Guarantee.
  • The Curtsy Guarantee protects buyers: Return decisions are based on how accurately the seller described and photographed the item. Disclosed flaws shown in the listing generally aren't eligible for refunds.
