Depop fees Australia: Seller and buyer costs in 2026
If you sell on Depop in Australia, you've probably heard the news: Depop scrapped its 10% selling fee. But every sale carries a 2.6% + A$0.30 payment processing fee, and boosted listings can add an optional 8% on top.
I went through the current Depop fees in Australia and worked out payouts at A$20, A$50, and A$100, with and without boosting. By the end, you'll know how much you'll actually receive per sale and how the buyer fee changes the price your customers see.
Depop fees in Australia at a glance
Depop removed its 10% seller fee for Australia-based sellers on 22 July 2026. Sellers just pay a 2.6% plus A$0.30 payment processing fee on each sale. If you boost a listing to promote it, Depop also charges an 8% boosting fee when a buyer who viewed, clicked, or liked the boosted listing buys it within 28 days.
How much does Depop take from Australian sellers?
Depop takes 2.6% + A$0.30 from each Australian sale in payment processing fees, plus an 8% boosting fee on qualifying boosted sales. It no longer charges Australian sellers its standard 10% selling fee.
Payment processing fees
Depop charges Australian sellers 2.6% plus A$0.30 for each sale made through Depop Payments. The fee is based on the item price, postage costs, and any taxes that apply.
The platform takes this fee before sending your payout. Even though Depop removed its standard selling fee, this payment processing charge still applies.
For example, selling a jacket for A$40 with an additional A$10 postage charge results in A$1.60 in processing fees. If that A$10 pays for a Depop Shipping label, you keep A$38.40.
Boosting fees
Depop charges Australian sellers an 8% boosting fee when a buyer views, clicks, or likes a boosted listing and then buys the item within 28 days. Depop calculates the fee on the item’s price and any postage costs you arrange yourself (excluding taxes). Boosting fees are 100% optional, so you’ll only pay this fee if you choose to boost.
You can boost individual listings or your entire shop. Turning off boosting stops new promoted views, but earlier views can still lead to fees within 28 days.
For example, say you boost an A$60 jacket on 1 November and turn off boosting on 10 November. If someone viewed the promotion and bought the jacket on 20 November, you'd still pay A$4.80 in boosting fees. This example assumes the jacket ships with a Depop Shipping label, so postage doesn’t count toward the fee.
How much is Depop's buyer Marketplace fee in Australia?
Depop’s buyer Marketplace fee is up to 5% of the item price, plus up to A$1. Postage and taxes don't count toward the fee. The platform introduced a Marketplace fee for Australian buyers on 22 July 2026.
Depop includes this fee in the price buyers see, with postage shown separately. Buyers also get the Marketplace fee back if they receive a full refund.
If you’re a seller, you should check how the fee affects the final price buyers see. There's no need to add it yourself.
For example, if you list a jacket for A$50, buyers could see a price of up to A$53.50 before postage. This assumes Depop charges the full 5% plus A$1.

To work out your own payout, subtract 2.6% of the item price plus A$0.30, then subtract 8% of the item price if the sale came through a boosted listing.
The examples below use the prices sellers set and leave out postage, taxes, and the buyer's Marketplace fee.
